The six GOAT Squad editions: roster slots, match formats, every boss ladder including Overtime, and the twist each sport adds

The editions at a glance

Slots without a number weigh 1.0. Squad OVR is the weighted average of the player slots plus the coach's modifier (−5 to +5), with no cap, so a stacked squad passes 100. Card tiers are set by rating in every edition: Diamond 85+, Gold 80, Silver 75, Bronze 65, grey below, and purple for legends. The draw pool is live cards and legends; Prime versions are the shop upgrade, not something the reel lands on.

How fights are decided, per sport

• NBA and Baseball: a best of seven, first to four, each game a win chance built from the OVR gap with momentum between games. Down 3-1 gets a comeback boost, bigger if the sport's hero is on your squad (LeBron James in the NBA edition, David Ortiz in Baseball).
• Hockey: the same best of seven, but a game tied after sixty minutes goes to overtime and the box score prints a fourth period. Hero: Mark Messier.
• Football: one game in two acts. The first roll decides who leads at half, the second decides the winner, and holding the halftime lead is worth a real edge. Hero: Tom Brady.
• Soccer: one knockout match. Ninety minutes simulated as two halves with realistic scorelines (2-1 and 1-0 are the most common), extra time if level, then a shootout that is close to a coin flip. About a quarter of matches reach extra time and one in ten goes to penalties. Hero: Lionel Messi.
• UFC: one five-round fight scored round by round, with a knockout or submission possible at any moment; the further ahead you are, the likelier the finish. An icon anywhere in your build fuels the comeback surge.

All six keep the +7 rule: out-rate the opponent by more than seven and the fight cannot be lost. UFC's odds curve is flatter than the others, so a +7 edge there is a 75% fight rather than the NBA's 94%, and the lock matters more.

The boss ladders

Every edition's ladder is ten stops: eight fights and two shops (stops four and eight). Each run redraws fights one to six from that edition's pool of historic teams, matched to the band the stop belongs to, so no two runs look alike; fights nine and ten never change. Two or three of the forks are rolled as ELITE on one side: that side gets +2 rating and an ability if it had none, and its spoils wheel pays about 60% relic cards, tripled stars and a $10 bounty. The other side of an ELITE fork is always the safe road.

No Overtime ladder, so no IMMORTAL title in UFC.

Boss abilities across the editions: a stronger edge in elimination games, a stronger Game 1, no momentum for you when trailing, a comeback of their own, and a debuff to your OVR for the series. The Antidote relic cancels the debuff.

What only one sport has

Baseball

• Secondary positions. A card listed SS/3B is on both reels, and a secondary has to be earned in real appearances to count.
• No duplicates. Because of secondaries, the same name cannot be locked twice; the board dedupes when you STOP. The rule is by name, so the two real Will Smiths (a catcher and a pitcher) cannot share a roster.
• Super Utility, a baseball-only run modifier: infielders can fill any infield slot and outfielders any outfield slot, never across, the pitcher untouched, and anyone out of position takes −2 at the reveal.
• Legend ratings are hand-authored with a 94 floor.

Football

• The two-act game above, and the Flex slot that takes an RB, WR or TE.

Hockey

• Overtime inside a best of seven. Both defence slots draw from one D pool, so the no-duplicate rule is what keeps one defenceman off both sides.
• The goalie slot is the heaviest in the game at 1.35.

Soccer

• One match, not a series, so relics that talk about "games" map onto the match: Fast Starters is the first half, The Ring is the decider (extra time and the shootout). A Deadline Loan is a half-time signing. Insurance replays the whole ninety.
• A shootout win is a win, but it does not pay the sweep bonus; only a match settled inside ninety does.
• Some clubs carry the game's unlicensed labels: Milano FC is AC Milan, Lombardia FC is Inter, Latium is Lazio, Bergamo Calcio is Atalanta. Ajax has no crest and appears only in the rotation pool.

UFC

• You build one fighter. Each slot is an attribute; locking a fighter grafts that fighter's number for that attribute onto yours. A card's rarity and colour still come from its overall.
• The free-agency wheel that scouts your weakest seat in other editions is skipped here, because there is no weakest seat, only your one fighter.
