The nine slots

Frame is 58 + 4.5 per inch above 6'1". Its weight was cut to 0.5 because the height curve's median (58) sits far below the other slots' median (72): at full weight every tall player read as a downgrade. Treat it as a parking slot.

What lands

• About 690 skaters with 25+ games, goalies excluded, plus 36 legends. Ratings are derived from official NHL statistics, not a video game.
• 4% Legend, 5% Prime, tier-weighted otherwise. One Re-spin, one Boost, one Snag.

What the career sim rewards

• Goals: Sniping and Shot Power. Assists: Playmaking and Hockey IQ. Points drive the Art Ross and most of the Hart.
• Awards: Hart Trophy (MVP), Art Ross (scoring title), Rocket Richard (goals title), Selke (best defensive forward, from the Defense slot), Calder (rookie of the year), Conn Smythe (playoff MVP), First All-Star Team, Stanley Cups.
• Career length: 30 + 0.105 × Motor + 0.01 × (Clutch − 50), clamped 25 to 44. Motor is the whole story.
• One injury per career; the same decision events as the other sims.
• No over-99 soft cap. Unlike soccer and baseball, a maxed hockey build's ratings above 99 count fully in the sim, which is why the record ticker goes past 895 goals ("passes Gretzky") and 2,858 points. Treat it as a feature of the current tuning.

The Hall of Fame

Otherwise the score is point shares plus points plus hardware, rolled against (score − 20) / 28. Verdicts: 🐐 G.O.A.T. (Hall with a 99+ build), 🏆 Hall of Fame, 🏒 Hall of Stat-Padders (600 goals, 1,000 assists or 1,500 points in two milestone clubs, but no Hall), Hall of Pretty Good (80+), Hall of Mid (72+), Hall of Healthy Scratches. Vote line: 75 + 0.18 × (score − 78) + 1.2 per Hart, first ballot at 90% or three Harts. Trophy case: 🏆 Hart, 💍 Cup, 🥇🥈🥉 Olympic medals, ⭐ All-Star, 🏒 All-NHL, 🛡️ Selke.

Best builds from the leaderboard

The highest-rated skaters ever posted, pulled 2026-08-25 from 31,845 builds. Brett Hull and Bobby Hull own the shooting slots, Orr and Doug Harvey own Defense, Datsyuk owns Hockey IQ, and Canada's 31,845 posted builds make this the biggest hockey board in the game.

Tips

• Sniping, Playmaking, Defense. Three 1.2 slots; the Selke comes from the third.
• Motor is the career. It is 1.1 in OVR but 0.105 years per point in the sim: a 95 Motor is a 40-year-old with 2,000 points.
• Frame is the dump slot, weighted 0.5. Tall defensemen (Chara, Logan Stanley) go there when nothing else needs them.
• Four Cups is an automatic Hall. Clutch and the ring-chase decision matter more here than in most sims.

Sorted by OVR; also Goals, Points, Point Shares, Cups and Harts, with Gretzky's 2,857 as the purple reference row. Hockey runs its own daily every day.
